Unattended Live fees are waived in June, 2018 to anyone who uses the service.   • Heinrich Koehler Auctions The Richard Frajola Collection - September 19, 2025 On April 15, 1840 the first two sheets of postage stamps in the world were printed. Examples from each of these first sheets are highlight of the Richard Frajola collection of Great Britain Line Engraved issues. The sale includes stamps and covers of rarely seen imperforates of Queen Victoria's line-engraved stamps. These include imprimaturs (stamps removed from the first registration sheets printed from a new plate) as well as special pieces including: imperforate issued stamps, specimen overprints, fugitive ink trials, royal reprints, Neale's steam press trial, Dr Perkins trials on blued security paper and stamps on Dickinson paper with security thread. Imprimatur sheets were sent to Somerset House for approval. Those that remain have a few individual stamps removed and those are now held in the Royal collection, private collections or lost. Some imprimatur sheets, such as those of the 1840 two pence issue, do not exist.
