The Joseph Hackmey Collection of New Zealand 1855-1872 Part I - February 19, 2009

The International Award-Winning Joseph Hackmey Philatelic Collections of Classic Ceylon (1797-1870) and New Zealand (1855-1872) are, without a doubt, the finest collections of these popular countries ever formed. Both collections contain an impressive array of rare and unique items, several of which have not appeared at auction in years.

The majority of stamps and postal covers featured in the Hackmey collections come to the market with outstanding provenance. Many have once resided in world renowned collections formed by such philatelic giants as Ferrary, de Worms, Caspary, Dale-Lichtenstein, Pack, Stanley, Agabeg, Pearson and John Woolfe.

These two exciting collections will be sold at Spink Shreves Galleries in New York City on February 18th (Ceylon) and February 19th (N.Z.), and with a further sale of each in the autumn of 2009.
