3262 Oc   India used abroad collection, a comprehensive exhibit collection of many hundreds of covers, cards and stamps mounted and written-up on quadrille pages in four albums, being a study of the various 19th and 20th century cancel types used by the Indian post offices abroad, as well as many paquebot postmarks on Indian stamps and covers, the first volume is all Aden and includes 1854 4a cut square, Aden datestamps on a wide variety of other Indian stamps, some covers, Aden Cantonment and Aden Camp datestamps, a range of sub-offices including Maalla, Kamaran, Dthali, Perim, Khormaksar, Sheikh and Othman and some paquebot covers, the collection then continues with usages from Abadan, Ahwaz, Bandar-abas, Guadur, Pasni, Henjam, Kuwait, Linga, Mohammera, Muscat, Dozdab Indian Exchange P.O., Koh-I-Mauk-Siah-Ziarat, many Zanzibar, Somaliland, Sudan, Abyssinia, Mombassa, Bahrain, Bagdad, good Busrah including seven Queen Victoria covers, Dubai, Bushire with seven Queen Victoria covers, Batavia, Afghanistan including a hand-drawn pictorial cover from the second Afghan war, Nepal, scarce Tibet including Lahssa, Gangtok, Pharijon, Gyantse and Yatung as well as several 1924 Everest Expedition covers, the collection finishes with Straits Settlements, including Singapore with a three-color franking cover and 1854 4a cut square, Malacca and Penang with an 1854 4a cut square, somewhat mixed condition as usual, however much is fine-very fine; an interesting collection which is well suited for expansion.
