1344 ogOblc   Voluminous and pleasantly duplicated balance of the Joseph Mahfood Jamaica postage stamp collection, comprised of thousands of items including mint singles, mint blocks of four and larger multiples, plate blocks, used singles, used blocks of four, some "Specimen" overprints or perfins, numerous inverted watermarks, minor varieties, shades, booklet panes, covers and first day covers, all in mounts on quadrille pages and housed in fifteen very well-filled Frank Godden deluxe albums, the collection covers the period from the 1860 first issue up to 1984, the first volume is all Queen Victoria and features numerous scarce mint blocks of four, two used examples of the 1860 1/- with "$" for "S" in "SHILLING" variety, five 1d bisects on piece and an unofficial 6d bisect on piece, plus a cover with two halves of the 1d bisect used with a whole 1d stamp, also inverted watermarks and good 1890-91 surcharges, the next two volumes are early 20th century and King George V, including the basic stamps complete mint and used, plus various 1903-11 "SER. ET" varieties, many mint blocks, good War Tax issues replete with major and minor varieties and nice Pictorials, the George VI is about a volume and includes many mint singles and blocks, including the 5/- line perforated 14, the remaining ten volumes are all QEII and generally include mint and used singles, mint and used blocks or plate blocks and first day covers, which start with the 1937 Coronation issue, the overall quality is very nice, there are some small faults or toned and some of the modern covers are stained, most are o.g., l.h., n.h. or used, fine-very fine; a valuable collection with many items for the specialist that is a pleasure to view. Est. $4,000-5,000

1345 ogO   Jamaica back-of-the-book issues and forgeries collection of dozens of items mounted on quadrille pages in an F.G. deluxe album, starting with the forgeries there is an interesting assemblage of fourteen crude lithographed Victoria issues both perf. and imperf., three 1860 1d bisect forgeries, a 5d Arms "SER. ET" error with forged cancel and a 1/- "$" for "S" fake, then there are Postal Fiscals both mint and used including several imperforate singles, Officials including two sets of the 1890-91 ½d-2s overprinted "SPECIMEN", Telegraph stamps, 1915 Red Cross labels both mint and used and Revenues including "JUDICIAL" overprints on Victoria to QE II and ending with 1960 Social Security 3/- and 4/- in blocks of four, some faults, vast majority fine-very fine. Est. $750-1,000
