County, and actually served as the state capital for one day in 1807, due in part to convincing the Cherokee that by ceding the area that is now Roane County that Kingston would become the capital. This extremely rare item is not listed in Garland. A
small hole is noted at left, and some paper skins are noted on back, but, if this is the only surviving example at present, it doesn't really matter. Fine. From The Joe C. Copeland Collection
