Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
25 Ou 6b Image#6b, 1c Blue, Ty. Ic, position 82R4, a stunning gem used example of this rare and distinctive type, featuring lavishly large and well balanced margins all around, sumptuously rich color and an excellent clarity of impression on immaculate paper, neat town postmarks, extremely fine; a superb stamp for the collector who seeks out used classics in only the finest available quality; the rarity of Ty. Ic stamps is due to the fact that only ten such types are found on the 200 positions from Plate 4 and does not occur on any other plate; 1980 PF certificate (as a sub-variety of Scott #8A, before it was given its own listing as Scott #6b) and a 2011 PF certificate (XF 90 XQ; SSV $6,000.00 for 90 and $11,500.00 for 95). 26 ng 7 Image#7, 1c Blue, Ty. II-III-II, vertical strip of three, positions 1/11/21L1E (reliefs T/B/A), large to extra-large margins all around, strong rich color and impressions, each stamp with neat light strike of black circular grid cancel, the top stamp has a light horizontal crease that ends in a tiny tear in the left margin, otherwise extremely fine; an especially scarce combination strip in a vertical format; ex-Cipolla. (Image) $1,510.00+

SOLD for $1,600.00
Will close during Public Auction
32 c 7, 9 Image#7, 9, 1c Blue, Ty. II, Ty. IV, positions 1-10R1L, an amazing franking of a horizontal pair and a strip of eight, comprising the entire top row of plate 1 late - right pane, position 4 being Ty. II, the only position on the plate of 200 that was not recut, nine of the stamps display double transfers, the stamps are quite well margined considering how difficult it would have been to cut the strip, some stamps with margins just touching or slightly cutting the design, strong rich color and impressions, all tied by most unusual individual "crossroad" postmarks and by matching "Goliad, Tex./Apr 5" c.d.s., to large portion of a courthouse cover which has been refolded at the edges to give it a better overall facial appearance, it has been suggested that the 10c in postage represented a "book rate", regardless this is an extraordinary franking utilizing one of the most important complete rows from plate 1 late. (Image) Est. $1,500-2,000

SOLD for $1,700.00
Will close during Public Auction
