Australian States
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
2336 og Australian States valuable mint collection of many hundreds of stamps from all six states, as part of the huge Apt collection the Gibralters acquired an extensive collection mounted on Scott pages and then made album pages based on the much more detailed Stanley Gibbons catalog, hoping to start collecting by Gibbons, but little was added since their original purchase and therefore at first glance this collection appears to be somewhat sparse, but the astute viewer will recognize that it is actually very well filled based on the Scott catalog, and contains many scarce classic issues (some with certificates), as well as many of the better turn-of-the-century shilling and pound values, plus a good range of postal fiscals and other back-of-the-book, while the earliest items are in the typical mixed condition, there are numerous correctly identified stamps which are seldom offered in collection lots, and the later material is mostly o.g. and a large proportion is fine-very fine; a lot definitely worth inspecting, as the total catalog value should be well into the high five figures. Est. 7,500-10,000
