Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
1336 ng S.G. #10 imageS.G. #10, 1852-57 6p Greenish grey, an extraordinarily handsome appearing example of this rare unused classic, featuring large margins all around, with just a bit of the imprint showing in the bottom right margin, rich distinctive color and impression on bright paper, a single minute and barely perceptible closed tear in the top margin is the only thing separating this stamp from the gem category, extremely fine appearance; accompanying 1970 RPS certificate does not mention the tiny flaw, however it inexplicably describes the stamp as "a little soiled", as this stamp is remarkably fresh and clean for a stamp of this vintage (Scott #5b; $9,000.00). (Image) £12,000

Closed or SOLD for $1,600.00
