1578 og A most remarkable mint collection of the Feudatory States, being one of the most exciting and comprehensive collections of its kind we have offered in years, featuring extraordinary variety and comprehensiveness, with perhaps as many as 2,000 different stamps, not only is there an excellent range of basic issues, but we note a plethora of very elusive stamps and varieties that are never seen any more in collections of this type, every State is represented, often being complete or virtually so, some of the more valuable States include Bamhra complete including the very scarce 1888 first issues (two with certificates), Bhopal has excellent representation, including officials, Bundi is incredibly strong with an outstanding selection of both the regular and official Maharao Rajah issues, in Cochin we note scarce officials, Jaipur is nearly complete, Jammu and Kashmir is solid, as is Kishangarh and Soruth, plus much more; as usual with collections of this area the condition is a little mixed, but certainly much better than usual, vast majority with o.g. (if issued thus), there are almost certainly some reprints and questionable material present, however this is clearly one of the most interesting and valuable collections in the entire sale, certain to be of interest to both the serious student and novice willing to take on this challenging area of philately; examination a must to fully evaluate and appreciate.
