106 O J2 image#J2, 1876 40c Black on blue postage due, a marvelous example of this great classic rarity, which only exists used, this particular example ranks as one of the finest in existence, as most are found with faults or heavily repaired, this copy, however, is completely fault free except for a small stray ink spot at right which is truly trivial and not even mentioned on the accompanying certificate, ample to mostly large margins all around, unusually fresh paper color, Pointe A Pitre c.d.s., very fine; the first 40c postage due was printed on this blue paper, but after only a few were used, it was immediately replaced by the 40c printing on white paper, making this not only one of the rarest stamps of the world, but almost certainly the rarest regularly issued postage due stamp; signed Miro and accompanied by a 1997 Behr certificate (Yvert #T2; FF 225,000).
