Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
961 og PR32 image#PR32, $60.00 violet, a remarkable premium quality mint example of this very rare and seldom offered high value Continental Bank Note newspaper stamp, being one of the very few sound mint examples in existence which still retains its full original gum, lovely fresh color and impression, exceptionally well centered as well, full clean o.g., very fine and quite choice; a stamp that is on virtually every serious collector's want list; ridiculously undercataloged, as evidenced by a $6,250.00 realization (plus the 10% buyer's premium) for a slightly lesser quality example in our December 1999 Collector's Series Sale; 2000 PF certificate. (Image) 2,750.00

969 og PR111 image#PR111, $20.00 Slate, a stunning mint single of this very scarce newspaper stamp, possessing physical characteristics that are truly remarkable, beginning with its marvelous centering within incredibly large margins which are most uncharacteristic of this, plus its color is intensely rich and its impression razor sharp on fresh paper, full clean o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine; the rarity of this stamp in this outstanding condition cannot be overstated; certainly the finest example we have ever seen; 1990 PF certificate. 970 ogng PR9/125 #PR9/125, High cataloging mint/unused newspaper collection of 58 apparently different stamps, being quite comprehensive and the majority of stamps appear to be correctly identified, numerous scarce to rare stamps are found throughout the collection, with many cataloging $100.00 to $1,350.00 each, for example in the 1875 Continental printings we note fourteen values up to the $6.00, the 1879 American Bank Note issues are represented by fifteen different, including the $3.00 to $60.00 values (less the $48.00), 1885 issues are complete, couple of 1894 Bureau issues, a few 1895 unwatermarked stamps including the $10.00 (thinned) and concluding with a complete set of the 1895-97 watermarked issues, less only the $50.00; a large number of stamps are unused, although some o.g. stamps noted, facially this collection is quite attractive, with condition a bit mixed as is always the case with these notoriously difficult issues, still a comprehensive collection whose catalog value is in excess of $14,000.00 (if every stamp is correctly identified, and the majority appear to be so in our opinion). Est. 2,000-3,000
