525 O 459 image#459, 2c Carmine imperforate coil, a lovely used pair of this elusive imperforate coil, being one of the very few stamps in United States philately that is far more rare and valuable in used condition versus mint, this impressive pair is not only fault free, but it is in a fabulous state of preservation as well, featuring large balanced margins all around, gorgeous intense color and impression on bright fresh paper, beautifully cancelled with a much more desirable town c.d.s. rather than the nebulous and often questioned "mute" oval postmark found on most known used pairs, superb; of the approximately less than fifteen known genuine used pairs of this coil, this pair is, without question, the finest in existence both in terms of its overall quality and desirability of its cancel; 1993 and 2000 PF certificates. 529 O 461 image#461, 2c Pale carmine red, we feel quite confident in stating that the stamp offered here is the finest genuinely used example of a #461 in existence, as this spectacular stamp possesses physical qualities that would be impressive for a mint single, but are almost impossible to find on the very limited number of used stamps known, possessing absolutely perfect centering amid gigantic jumbo margins, gorgeous distinctive color and impression on bright paper, wonderfully postmarked with a portion of a boxed Millburn, N.J. cancel, simply superb; to find any certified used example of a #461 is a challenge, but to find one in this gem quality, and with a desirable postmark versus the nebulous "mute" cancel, is only possible due to the existence of this remarkable stamp; 1959 and 1999 PF certificates for a block of four, this being the bottom left stamp.
