1323 c 7 image#7, 5c Blue, Local printing by Archer & Daly, horizontal pair with faults, cancelled by multiple strikes of the Mount Crawford "crossroads" fancy cancel, Mount Crawford Va./Feb 14 (1863)" c.d.s. at right on invalid 3c Red Nesbitt entire, addressed to James Foley, Guiney's Station, 33rd Regiment, Va Vols, Stonewall Brigade; one of the most famous military units in history, the 33rd Regiment Virginia Volunteers nicknamed "Stonewall's Brigade", was one of the most respected and frequently engaged units in the entire Confederate army, mailed in February 1863 to a tiny railway station south of Fredricksburg in Caroline County, this letter arrived just a few months before General "Stonewall" Jackson would be mortally wounded at the Battle of Chancellorsville; light soiling and edgewear, reduced at left affecting stamp, still rare and unusual; an interesting historical item which is specifically documented on page 35 of the "Straightline, Fancy & Unusual Cancels & Handstamps on Confederate General Issue Stamps" by Conrad L.
