639 ogc U82a image#U82a, 3c Brown on white, error of color, die 37, size 7, knife 25, wmk. 2, an incredibly rare mint entire of this major color error which has recently been given major catalog status in the Scott catalog, having long been listed in the Thorp and UPSS catalogs, being in the finest condition possible, with superb color and impression on immaculate paper, plus its edges are quite sharp, extremely fine; one of probably only six known (no cut squares are recorded) and likely to be the finest available; only the second example of this rarity we have ever had the pleasure of offering, the first realized $11,550.00 in June 2000 as part of the impressive Dr. Jerry Summers collection sold by this firm (his example had negligible soiling); accompanied by an original bill of sale from William H.
