894 c C14 image#C14, $1.30 Graf Zeppelin, fine centering tied by "City Hall Sta., N.Y./May 30/1930" machine pmk. to flown cover (Sieger #64G) with Roessler simple Zeppelin cachet in gray blue, Seville receiving pmk. on front; but what makes this cover even more interesting and valuable is the use of the One Cent Green U.S. stamp overprinted "Graf Zeppelin" by A.C. Roessler, disgusted that the U.S. Post Office did not appropriately commemorate the Graf Zeppelin in 1929, Roessler decided to produce his own special issue, however his efforts nearly landed him in jail for fraudulently issuing a "U.S." postage stamp, to our knowledge this is the only U.S. 1930 Pan-American flight cover to bear this fascinating issue, very fine; ex-Berkun.
