231 O 389 image#389, 3c Deep violet, Ty. I, "Orangeburg Coil", perf. 12 vert., a magnificently centered and margined used example of this coil rarity, which was issued in very limited quantities specifically for use by the Bell Pharmaceutical Co. to mail samples to doctors, the enormous balanced margins on this stamp, to say the least, are most uncommon, as this stamp is notorious for being found tightly margined, in addition to being typically poorly centered, rich intense color characteristic only to genuine examples, neat usual wavy line machine cancel, there are a couple of really trivial creases (primarily in the top left and top right corner perforation tips) which are endemic to this stamp, however they are quite minor and in no way affect the extremely fine and stunning appearance of this remarkable copy; we believe this to be the finest centered and margined Three Cent "Orangeburg" coil extant; 1992 PF certificate.
