1031 ogO 1/751, C1/JQ5 #1/751, C1/JQ5, The high cataloging balance of a major United States collection, well over 1,000 different stamps, the large majority of which are used, 1847-1935, neatly housed in two expensive Elbe President's albums (with matching slipcases), assembled by a collector whose main focus was completion rather than condition, so this collection is filled with many scarce to rare stamps, but they are often in very mixed quality, ranging from faulty copies to stamps with only minimal faults, and there are even some very nice sound and well centered examples scattered throughout, just a brief overview of the contents of the collection includes both the 5c and 10c 1847 issue, the 1851-56 issues includes the 5c, and all four 10c types, the 1857-60 issues are nearly complete with several rare 1c types and all four 10c types, 1861 and 1867 Grills quite strong, scattered 1869 Pictorials to the 30c (including a few re-issues), Bank Notes nearing completion, all commemoratives of the period are complete, including the 1893 Columbians and the 1898 Trans-Mississippis, both unwatermarked and watermarked Bureau issues are nearly complete, including both key $5.00 values, 1902-03 Regular issues complete to the $5.00 (less only one low denomination), Washington-Franklin issues well represented, and the regular issues conclude with several souvenir sheets, including two mint White Plains sheets, back-of-the-book issues are quite strong and represent perhaps the more interesting and valuable portion of the collection, with complete air posts (including 1930 Graf Zeppelins), special deliveries complete, strong postage dues, complete mint set of Offices in China, solid Officials both mint and used (some of these are quite nice), and the collection ends with a remarkably comprehensive run of very scarce newspaper stamps, again in very mixed quality, but filled with elusive stamps nonetheless; examination is essential on this collection to properly evaluate, but upon examination it will become clear that the total catalog value of this balance will be quite impressive, which we estimate to be in the $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 range. Est. 7,500-10,000

SOLD for $19,000.00
Closing..Oct-18, 05:30 PM

1033 ogO Miscellaneous balance of an estate, with some premium stamps including choice used #149 with a fancy cancel and mint #K14, some modern mint, also some foreign including a Canada choice n.h. 50c Bluenose and some modern Canada and Great Britain (including Canada Capex set in full sheets of 50), condition a little mixed, much is fine-very fine.
