Postal Stationery Large Lots
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
1311 ogO U1/597, UC1/Uo72 #U1/597, UC1/47, UO2/72, The comprehensive balance of the Fred C. Ballman collection of mint and used cut squares, containing 575 different mint and used cut squares, with emphasis and most value found in mint examples, highly representative of all issues through 1980 and neatly mounted in a single volume, filled with a remarkable range of elusive cut squares that catalog $25.00 to $350.00 each (and some even higher), there are plenty of desirable high denomination Reay and Plimpton issues, as well as a marvelous range of the many 1920-34 Surcharges, and the officials are quite nice with a number of seldom seen issues; Mr. Ballman's main goal was to obtain as complete a collection as possible, so condition sometimes was not as paramount in his early collecting years, as it became with later purchases, therefore condition will range from examples that are cut a bit small or with small faults all the way up to a number of select quality full corner examples; examination will be essential to fully evaluate and appreciate this sizable collection whose total catalog value will far exceed $25,000.00. Est. 4,000-5,000

SOLD for $8,500.00
Closing..Oct-19, 09:00 AM
1312 ogc Mint postal stationery collection to 2001 of several hundred postal cards or entires, the postal cards are fairly comprehensive (particularly the modern issues) including reply cards, the entires start at the turn-of-the-century, but most of the value in the more modern including #UC9, some postal cards are preprinted, fine-very fine. Est. 300-400

SOLD for $260.00
Closing..Oct-19, 09:00 AM
