1767 ogbl 55 var. image#55 var., 1c Light green and black, "Canal Zone" omitted, the error being the bottom left stamp in a bottom left margin block of four, caused by a foldover which placed the overprint on the reverse of the corner selvage, o.g., choice very fine; this stamp was formerly listed as the unique #55f, as it is the only example that exists as a vertical pair, one with overprint omitted, it is now probably technically a #55c (horizontal pair, left stamp without overprint), although all other examples of #55c were caused by an overprint shift; this is clearly the most striking and desirable of the overprint omitted errors of this stamp; ex-Plass and illustrated in Canal Zone Stamps. 1780 O 76a image#76a, 12c Violet, "Zone" inverted, remarkably, we have a second example of this error rarity, this being one of the seven known used examples, deep rich color, the natural straight-edge at right has been privately perforated to improve the appearance, also a small repair at top not readily apparent, fine appearance; this is actually one of the most attractive used examples of this error, as most are quite defective, in fact in Canal Zone Stamps, the authors note "Apparently all of the used copies have various defects and probably were used on parcel post packages or possibly registered mail."; 1997 PF certificate accompanies.
