1652 ogPB 359 image#359, 3c Deep violet on bluish paper, an enormously rare full top margin imprint and plate no. 4918 block of six, quite fresh, deep luxuriant color, full clean o.g. with just the faintest trace of hinging, centered a bit to bottom with perforations just touching design, overall quite fine; probably no more than a half dozen Six Cent Bluish Paper plate blocks exist and this, according to our records, is one of only two full top plate blocks known; an important 20th century plate block; each stamp with very light Stanley Gibbons guarantee handstamp and accompanied by 1976 PF and 1994 PSE certificates. 1653 og 360 image#360, 4c Orange brown on bluish paper, wonderfully fresh and attractive example of this key 20th century rarity, featuring strong fresh color and a sharp crisp impression, while centered a bit to right (as found on most existing copies), it is actually better centered than the majority of these, unusually even and intact perforations, full clean o.g., lightly hinged, very fine; less than 100 examples are known, as approximately 90 of each of this value and the 8c were released in an exchange with the Post Office Department in Washington, D.C. to obtain other rarities for the nation's collection; a choice example of a stamp that is missing in most U.S. collections; accompanied by 1979 and 2002 PF certificates.
