2321 ng 2 image#2, 5c Blue on pelure paper "Missionary", Ty. II, showing small "n" in "Cents", an enormously rare unused example demonstrating its outstanding quality by possessing four remarkably large and well balanced margins, magnificent pastel color and exquisite impression, the stamp's design has not been painted in unlike almost every other known unused copy, besides a few typical small faults which are endemic to these frail issues, there are small portions of the top right and bottom right corners which have been expertly added, extremely fine appearance; an historically exciting unused stamp, and of the mere twelve known unused Five Cent Missionaries this is, by far, the most superb appearing example, and among the finest of the ten available to collectors, as the other two reside in the Tapling Collection housed in the British Museum; 1944 APS and 2004 PF certificates; ex-Rider, Rust and Pietsch. 2333 og/nh 1/1580, C1/RW68 #1/1580, C1/RW68, Valuable and comprehensive mint collection balance to 1975 in two Scott albums, except for a dozen or so used prior to 1869 nearly everything is mint with original gum with only a few unused in the early 19th century, the collector had a good eye for centering and throughout will be found many attractive and desirable stamps, the collection starts with scattered early issues but begins to build with 1869 Pictorials and Bank Note issues, Small Bank Note issues are complete, plus Columbians less only the $3.00 and $4.00, Bureau issues lack only a couple of dollar value items of being complete and the Trans-Mississippis lack only the 8c, 20th century commemoratives are virtually complete including a nice White Plains souvenir sheet, one of the nicer sections are the Washington-Franklin issues, many of the imperforates are collected in line pairs and center line blocks, there are also numerous coils collected as both singles and pairs with many of the pairs being line pairs, from the 1922-25 Regular issue the regular issues are virtually complete except for rarities, air posts are complete to the present including the Graf Zeppelins, special deliveries are similarly complete, plus extensive postage dues, Offices in China complete, a fair showing of newspaper stamps, and the collection concludes with a complete mostly mint collection of hunting permit stamps, though a few are well preserved signed copies by the collector, who evidently was a hunter as well as a stamp collector, condition overall is very presentable, the vast majority have o.g., never hinged is present but does not gain prominence until the late Washington-Franklin period, nearly all from beginning to end are attractive, usually with better than average centering, a few faults are to be expected, but overall fine-very fine with choice stamps throughout making this a most desirable collection for collector or dealer alike; accompanied by 72 certificates, all but about a dozen are PF certificates. Est. 30,000-40,000

2336 og/nhO 7/1175, C1/JQ2 #7/1175, C1/JQ2, The desirable balance of the David Noll collection of primarily mint stamps, hundreds of stamps in mounts in a Scott National album, plus dozens of better high quality duplicates on sales sheets as acquired by Mr. Noll, the collection is rather sparse in 19th century issues and is mixed mint and used, as well in quality, however the real value is found in a wonderful array of high quality mint stamps from the 1894 Bureau issues through the 1920's, with a plethora of low to medium catalog value stamps found in particularly select quality, often exceedingly well centered and margined, as well as the majority being never hinged, there are many Washinton-Franklin issues that if offered individually on a retail basis would far exceed their catalog values (particularly the 1917-19 series), the 1922-25 Regular issues have many gem stamps as well, even the 2c "Red" commemoratives are all in unusually choice quality, there is value to be found in the later issues through the 1950's, of note is a White Plains souvenir sheet, plus three 1956 $5.00 Hamiltons, some significant color shifts are found throughout, the collection concludes with a representative showing of back-of-the-book issues, primarily air posts which are complete less the Graf Zeppelins; as mentioned previously some of the earliest issues have small faults, but from 1894 on the collection is almost uniformly sound and select with many premium quality stamps, virtually all with o.g., many of which are n.h., very fine-extremely fine; an impressive 38 PF or PSE certificates accompany.
