#14/751, C1/LO6, The Dr. James A. Larson substantial largely mint
balance in a Scott Platinum album, consisting of over 600 singles and
pairs plus a half dozen souvenir sheets, what few used there are will be
found in the earlier 19th century which is minimal, from the late Bank Note
period virtually all are mint with o.g., Colombians are complete to the
30c, numerous Bureau issues and Trans-Mississippis to the 10c cplt., 20th
century commemoratives are nearly complete to 1934 including a very well
centered White Plains souvenir sheet, 20th century regular issues start
with the 1902-03 issues complete to the 15c, then a very extensive section
of Washington-Franklin issues with many coil pairs and imperforates
collected in pairs as well, virtually complete less rarities from the
1920's and nearly all are never hinged, air posts are complete mint to 1944
including the 1930 Graf Zeppelins, other back-of-the-book issues include
special deliveries, complete parcel posts including dues and special
handling, and a complete set of Shanghai surcharges; throughout Dr. Larson
collected with an eye for attractiveness and centering, nearly all with
o.g. except for a few very early issues, many never hinged are found from
the Washington-Franklins becoming more so as the collection progresses, a
very few faults will be found but the vast majority are fine-very fine or
better; a nice collection for acquiring the mint "bread and butter" issues
of the United States to which can be added the rarities; accompanied by 22
certificates being nearly all PF certificates.
