353 ogPB 288 image#288, 5c Trans-Mississippi, a magnificent full top left corner margin partial arrow, imprint and plate no. 618 block of ten, being the full top two rows of the sheet boasting extra-wide sheet selvage on both sides, wonderfully preserved in outstanding condition for this very scarce plate block, possessing impressively fresh deep color and a prooflike impression on bright paper, however most incredible is its exceptional centering and margins throughout, strong and intact perforations which is the rare exception for this series, immaculate o.g., lightly hinged in the bottom right pair just catching one stamp in the plate block of six and in the non-plate bottom left stamp, the other seven stamps are never hinged with flawless o.g., extremely fine; a visually stunning Five Cent Trans-Mississippi plate block; woefully undercataloged, as ten hinged and never hinged singles total $2695.00.
