The Dr. Choi-Lok Tang Collection - September 30, 2006

The Dr. Tang Collection is a relatively small (270 lots), but impressive assemblage of Canadian essays, proofs, stamps and postal history from the first Pence issues of 1851 through the 1911-25 "Admiral" issues. It is distinguished by its marvelous overall quality - with each item having been carefully selected for inclusion in his collection by Dr. Tang, with an eye towards lavish margins, excellent centering, brilliance of color and overall freshness. Many of Dr. Tang's stamps and covers are among the finest quality examples to appear at auction in several years, including a superlative used copy of Canada's most famous and popular classic rarity - the 1851 Twelve Pence Black.
