Roessler cachet by "Sevilla/17. May. 30" c.d.s. for the leg from Seville to Lakehurst, with red Spanish flight cachet, a U.S. $2.60 Zeppelin single (pre-affixing vertical crease) was applied at the same time for the return flight from Lakehurst to Friedrichshafen, but the Seville post office had already cancelled this stamp and the United States post office misread the routing thinking it was simply to go on the Zeppelin to Lakehurst where it was off loaded and received the "Lakehurst, N.J./May 31, 1930" Zeppelin backstamp, it was never put back on the Zeppelin for the return flight to Germany even though it was paid for, returned by ship where it was backstamped Munsinger on June 12th, trace of edge wear, very fine; an extremely rare combination franking the way it was intended, but it may be unique the way it was handled; 1978 Friedl certificate (Michel #66A var.; not listed thus in Sieger or Michel).
