218 c Sieger #184B imageSieger #184B, 1932 Seventh South America Flight, photo card posted on the Cruiser "Karlesruhe" with 6pf Light olive green tied by "Deutsche Marine-Schiffpost/Nr. 28/29. 9. 32" c.d.s., turned over to the Zeppelin for transport back to Germany on the return flight, Brazilian violet flight cachet, very fine; this rare mail came about because the crew of the "Karlsruhe" assisted the Zeppelin during a storm, so as a favor to the crew the Zeppelin offered to take mail home to Germany, being military personnel they were only required to pay domestic German postage from anywhere in the world so this Zeppelin dispatch was allowed at a mere 6pf for a post card; very interesting and extremely rare (Sieger €2,000; Michel #281A var.).
