429 og/nhbl 11(1)h/11(2)n #11(1)h/11(2)n, 2½p Blue, plate varieties, a marvelous well annotated selection of twelve items, ranging from singles to blocks of six, all with highly collectible plate varieties, all but one being specifically listed in ACSC, includes "retouch off N.S.W. coast" [1R11], and "retouch to first 'A' of 'AUSTRALIA'" [2L43] in two vertical strips of three, each in a distinctively different color, all mint except one used single, o.g., some stamps n.h., fine-very fine; a most difficult range of varieties to acquire, even with patience (A$1,000+). 430 O 11(2)i image#11(2)i, 2½p Indigo, missing "1" in "½" fraction, a lovely used example of this famous and popular rarity, the error resulting from a temporary ink clog which completely obliterated the "1" in "½" fraction, but was quickly corrected, well centered within large margins, deep luxuriant color on bright paper, light and unobtrusive "(Hami)lton, Vic/29.JA.20" c.d.s. which is wonderfully positioned as to not obscure the error, completely free of any of the flaws which affect most known copies, very fine and choice; considered to be the finest example available of the twelve used copies recorded (one of which is in the Royal Collection, plus there are three known mint examples); 1956 Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria certificate, as well as being signed by Peter Holcombe and accompanied by his 1994 certificate (A$12,500).
