822 c 58 image#58, £2 Grey and rose crimson, fine single, along with a vertical pair of the 2/- and a single £1 from the same series, plus a 5p Sheep, all tied to a registered airmail cover from Abel, Lemon & Co., Sydney to Shrewsbury, England, stamps tied by light strikes of "G.P.O. Sydney/7 OC 40/NSW-AUST" c.d.s. postmarks, transit postmarks on reverse, violet boxed "Not Opened by Censor" handstamp, red manuscript endorsement "by air - Australia/N. Zealand - U. Kingdom", some negligible usage wrinkling and vertical file fold not affecting stamps, fine; the entire franking represents the eleven times rate for a clipper letter (11 x 5/10p, weighing 5 to 5 ½ ounces) between Australia and the United Kingdom, plus 3p registration fee; an amazing commercial usage of the £2 value on an envelope, versus the more "commonly" seen usage on a parcel tag, in fact this is one of only two recorded usages on an envelope and is widely recognized as one of the most important Kangaroo covers in existence (A$10,000).
