BRITISH EMPIRE BALANCE LOTS
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
3454 ogS Balance of the Neal Allen Collection of Specimen stamps, several hundred stamps from dozens of different colonies, with sets cataloging up to about £300, good value in the "Tablet" definitive issues of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V, also some later perforated specimen sets, and a large number of omnibus sets of the Silver Jubilee, Coronation and Victory issues, only full complete sets or singles that are specifically prices in Stanley Gibbons were counted in the catalog value, there are present some uncounted incomplete sets, odd values, as well as broken "M" varieties, most are o.g., some small faults but a large percentage are fine-very fine. £12,400

SOLD for $7,250.00
Will close during Public Auction
3455 ogS Extensive duplicate stock of many thousands of specimen stamps neatly arranged in a large stockbook, over the years Mr. Allen would buy collections of specimens to upgrade or fill in his collection, he would then put the duplicates in this stockbook, with all of the different watermarks and types carefully separated and identified, he would also buy sets to upgrade some or all of what he already had, which explains why the condition in his main collection was so superior to what is typically found, so this is not your typical "collector's duplicate" stockbook, but rather it is filled with sets, partial sets, high values, low values, including high cataloging items such as Great Britain Queen Victoria to £1 and a complete set of the Australia postage dues, there are also scarce items from the pre-UPU period which Mr. Allen did not incorporate into his main collection, the condition is quite mixed, ranging from no gum faulty stamps to very fine lightly hinged stamps, overall a useful stock for someone who can use the wide range of areas and condition. Est. 3,000-4,000

SOLD for $15,000.00
Will close during Public Auction
