753 ogOc 6/82, O1-6, U1/UY3 #6/82, O1-6, U1/UY3, Hawaii comprehensive and valuable mint and used collection in six large binders, wonderfully presented with picture post cards and considerable collateral, for example the first volume has an ornate unused 1883 Coronation invitation, the stamps start as early as 1853 and include some Numerals, very comprehensive thereafter with lots of different town cancels collected from the various islands, the catalog for just the mint and used stamps is substantial, plus there are over 30 covers with issues that start as early as the 1870's, there is also a significant post stationery section with mint and used entires and cards plus extensive cut squares, mint envelopes include a 2c Rose and an overprinted 10c Black with blue interior, plus much more too numerous to mention, condition varies but the largest portion is fine-very fine; this collection demonstrates Mr. Bleuler's ingenuity in creating an interesting documentation of the mixture of history, stamps and postal history of a country, certainly this collection will want to be examined to discover all of the interesting material that is here besides the straight forward philatelic material which is substantial; ex-Bleuler. PHILIPPINES
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
760 O 239 image#239, $5.00 Dark green, an incredibly rare used example of this high value, but most striking is the fabulous quality exhibited by this elusive stamp, possessing beautiful centering within extraordinarily large margins and surrounded by full even perforations, especially rich color and prooflike impression, plus neatly cancelled by a quite light portion of a duplex cancel that is not at all obtrusive, unlike so many of the high values of this possession that are heavily cancelled, extremely fine; an amazing condition rarity that one could search for years to duplicate as only 746 stamps were overprinted of which only a tiny fraction were used; certainly among the finest quality examples of this tiny census; 1982 and 2004 PF certificates. (Image) $5,000.00
