1042     19b//25c imageMexico, 1864-66, Eagle Issue, without District Overprints. Six "1st Period" unoverprinted singles, a 1r ultramarine pair (rare multiple) and 4r & 8r in blocks of four, these are 25.5mm tall designs (NF $1,125+), 26 "unauthorized printing" stamps include a ½r pair with the massive plate flaw (position 71) and a 1r block of six, nine of the so-called essays (whose frames resemble U.S. 1851 3¢) are also present and include a 2r pair with invoice numbers, also a page of crude forgeries, F.-V.F. Follansbee No. 17A-21A, 41A, 43A-46A.

Massive accumulation of 1,918 stamps representing 34 districts, the best being Matamoros (four 1r), Tepeji, Tula and Tulancingo, a smattering of stamps with sub-numbers are present, 65 are unoverprinted mint, but these include two each of ½r brown and 1r ultramarine. Overprinted stamps include 44 ½r, 184 4r and 59 8r, district Mexico accounts for just under 25% of the catalog value; some faults, most are Fine or better. Follansbee No. 17/46 $40,477.
