569   1814 Bill For The Use Of Blacks In Boston, early bill from Boston MA detailing charges for the hire of nine blacks at 15/each. Slavery had been abolished in Massachusetts in 1780. An interesting look at the hiring and charges of free blacks. Bill has erosion at bottom corners, V.G. document.

570   image1864 Confederate Soldier's Letter, two page letter on printed letterhead "Confederate States/Quartermaster's Department/Railroad Bureau/Richmond", dated May 25, 1864, it is written by W.G. Roland, reads in part "…My business to Wilmington is to take 25 or 30 workmen down, Yankees who have refused to be exchanged & are going to be sent there to work…Grant seems to be maneuvering for a new position & I believe it has thrown Gen. Lee nearer Richmond. He has made several attacks recently but they were very feeble…", a desirable Confederate letter, scarce, Very Fine.
