VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1912 2-CENT LAKE. VERY FEW ARE KNOWN.
Through an error at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a small quantity of this stamp was erroneously printed using the inks in use at the time for the Postage Due issues.
With 2001 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (VF 80, SMQ $4,650.00). This is the only graded example of this issue. We have only offered four others since keeping computerized records. (Image)

VERY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED USED MULTIPLE OF THE 1917 ONE-CENT WITH DOUBLE IMPRESSION, ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE YEARDATE LEGIBLE IN THE CANCEL, AS THIS SHOWS THAT IT IS A CONTEMPORARY USAGE. A PHENOMENAL RARITY.
Ex "Alpha" Collection. With 1985 P.F. certificate. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A TRULY MAGNIFICENT MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT DEEP ROSE TYPE Ia WHICH HAS BEEN AWARDED THE PERFECT GRADE OF GEM 100 FROM P.S.E.
The Type Ia Scott 500 was created during an experiment of the Bureau in creating a new type of transfer roll. A die was made from the old Type I transfer roll, having ten impressions on it. A new transfer roll was then made, using the new ten-impression master die. This new transfer roll was then used to create two new plates. There are noticeable differences between the plates created using this method and the old method of using one die impression to create the transfer roll.
With 2010 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100, unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $6,500.00 as 98). Only one other Scott 500, also Mint N.H., has achieved this lofty grade, with none higher (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THE PERF 11 5-CENT ERROR OF COLOR, WHICH HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GRADE OF GEM 100 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED TO DATE AND ONLY ONE OTHER SHARES THIS GRADE.
During the production of the normal 2c plate No. 7942, three positions were noted to be defective. The plate was sent back to the siderographer, who burnished out the three positions and mistakenly re-entered them using a transfer roll for the 5c stamp. The error passed unnoticed and the sheets were issued to the public both Perf 10, Imperforate and Perf 11 (Scott 467, 485 and 505).
With 2010 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100, unlisted in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $4,750.00 as 98). This is the highest grade awarded to date and only one other shares this grade. (Image)
