FINE. THIS RECENTLY-UNVEILED PLATE BLOCK OF TWELVE IS THE LARGEST RECORDED UNUSED MULTIPLE OF THE 1882 5-CENT GARFIELD ISSUE. IT IS ALSO ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED PLATE BLOCKS OF THIS ISSUE.
The Chapin census lists a plate block of ten without gum and a strip of five. Prior to the emergence of the block offered here, the plate block of ten was the largest recorded unused multiple. The largest unused multiple we have offered since keeping computerized records is a block of four. The block offered here is superior to the other plate block, which has no gum. (Image)
