The Siskin sale offered the normal "La" Lancaster postmark as "possibly the only example of this postmark in private hands." Largely complete five-frame exhibit of Lancaster Pa. postal history, comprising more than 125 covers, tracing postmarks, rates and uses from 1785 through 1890's, assembled by noted Lancaster collector, the late Jim Boyles, the most valuable items removed and offered as individual lots but retaining a number of desirable covers, highlights incl. many stampless from late 1700's to mid 1800's incl. 1814 War Rate, 40c rate to California in 1848, two different Philadelphia "R" registered, carriers, colored handstamps incl. green, free franks incl.
