Perhaps 20 covers are known with the $1.00 Trans-Mississippi Issue, including approximately 14 with single frankings. This cover is part of a group prepared by Dr. Ernst Heusler of Heusler, Indiana. According to web sources consulted, the town was probably named for Dr. Heusler, who was the first postmaster when the post office was established in 1893.

Our Levi records contain seven covers with single frankings of the $2.00 Trans-Mississippi Issue. This cover is part of a group prepared by Dr. Ernst Heusler of Heusler, Indiana. According to web sources consulted, the town was probably named for Dr. Heusler, who was the first postmaster when the post office was established in 1893.

The Neil-Rosenthal book records approximately 20 examples of the $2.00 on cover (one is on piece, one was used in 1964 and two may be duplicated). The Levi records contain 14 -- seven are single frankings and three bear the entire set. This is closer to a full set than any of the other four.
