1096		10c Green, F. Grill (96). Rich color, used with horizontal pair of 3c Red, F. Grill (94), tied by quartered cork cancels, "Chicago Ill. May 19" (1869) circular datestamp on bright orange "Republican Platform" Grant-Colfax with Standing Liberty Campaign cover to Trondheim, Norway, red boxed "Hamburg Franco" datestamp, red crayon "1" ties 3c, red "6" and "2-1/2Wf." 1097°		12c Black, F. Grill (97). Jumbo margins and perfectly centered, intense shade and proof-like impression, face-free cancel EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A PHENOMENAL JUMBO-MARGINED USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1868 12-CENT F GRILL, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E. THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED AND ONLY ONE OTHER SHARES IT. With 2008 P.F. and 2010 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $9,000.00 as 98). 1098		2c Black, Re-Issue (103). Outstanding centering with wonderfully balanced margins, deep shade and detailed impression, lightly cancelled by duplex datestamp with "Mar. 5" date visible, two slightly shorter perfs at left not mentioned on accompanying P.F. certificate EXTREMELY FINE. THIS OUTSTANDING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT BLACK JACK RE-ISSUE HAS BEEN GRADED XF 90 BY P.S.E., WHICH IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED. ONLY 24 USED EXAMPLES ARE CONTAINED IN OUR CENSUS AND THE EXAMPLE OFFERED HERE IS UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE FINEST EXTANT. Our Our census of Scott 103 used, available at our website at http://siegelauctions.com/ dynamic/census/103/103.pdf ,contains 24 copies. However, of these only five or six have centering we would consider Very Fine, and perhaps a couple others could be considered Extremely Fine. Several of the possibly sound examples have not been examined in decades and may in fact not be sound. The example offered here, with wide balanced margins and a relatively light cancel, is a true condition rarity and clearly among the very finest examples known. Census No. 103-CAN-24. 1099°		10c Green, Re-Issue (106). Original gum, extra wide margins and almost mathematically perfect centering, intense shade and proof-like impression EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN INCREDIBLE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. The 10c Re-Issue was printed from a new plate of 100 subjects, compared to the original plate of 200 in two panes. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions). Only 451 of the 10c were sold; the remaining 9,549 were destroyed on July 16, 1884. With 1985 P.F. and 2003 P.S.E. certificates (OG, Superb 98; SMQ $22,500.00). 1100°		15c Black, Re-Issue (108). Intense shade and impression, bold strike of "6" oval grid duplex cancel at left, choice centering with wide margins VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE SOUND USED EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT 1866 RE-ISSUE. ONLY FIFTEEN ARE RECORDED IN OUR CENSUS. The 15c Re-Issue was printed from the original plate of 200 subjects. 10,000 stamps were printed (50 impressions). Only 397 of the 15c were sold; the remaining 9,603 were destroyed on July 16, 1884. Our census of Scott 108 used, available at our website at http://siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/108/108.pdf , records only 15 examples. 1101		24c Deep Violet, Re-Issue (109).
