A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1859 ONE-CENT BLUE HAWAIIAN NUMERAL ISSUE. The tiny flaws do not detract from the beautiful appearance of this scarce unused 1c Light Blue Numeral stamp, and they will certainly make it more affordable for most collectors. Plate 3-B, Type X (Westerberg Position 10), large margins all around, dark shade, neat strike of red "Honolulu Hawaiian-Islands Sep. 3" circular datestamp, small thin and tiny tear at top right (mostly in margin), tiny pinhole EXTREMELY FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE 1859 2-CENT BLUE HAWAIIAN NUMERAL ISSUE. Examples of the 2c Blue Numeral with handstamped cancellations are considerably more desirable than pen-cancelled copies. Ex Caspary, Ishikawa and Golden. A SUPERB STAMP IN EVERY RESPECT. Our Honolulu Advertiser sale contained only three unused examples of this stamp, none with original gum, and only one was sound. The Pietsch sale contained two sound copies, both without gum. We have only offered two with original gum since keeping computerized records.
