1370		CANADA, 1876, 8c Blue Registration (F3). Original gum, Mint N.H. top left corner selvage single, with "EIGHT" imprint in the top selvage, incredibly well-centered, stunning proof-like color and impression on fresh paper EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN INCOMPARABLE STAMP THAT IS REGARDED AS THE FINEST NEVER-HINGED NO. F3 IN EXISTENCE. The vast majority of the 8c Registration stamps are poorly centered, have faults, or have various gum maladies. The stamp offered here is the polar opposite. With its flawless centering, beautiful color as fresh as the day it was printed, and fresh original gum that has never been hinged, makes it likely the finest attainable copy. Being a corner selvage example adds more to the stamp's outstanding eye-appeal. We are offering it with catalogue values, though when the final hammer falls, we wouldn't be surprised to see these values greatly exceeded (particularly the Scott value). Ex "Crossings". Block of four, with part of imprint above the top left stamp (positions 1-2/7-8 on the sheet), original gum, minor h.r.'s, remarkably well-centered, beautiful rich color on pristine white paper EXTREMELY FINE. A STUNNING ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 8-CENT BRIGHT BLUE REGISTRATION STAMP. Certainly one of the finest (if not the finest) blocks of the 8c Registration stamp in existence. Scott prices the bright blue shade somewhat less than the normal dull blue shade, while Unitrade gives it a slight premium. Catalogued as four singles.
