Good Hope, which was one of the two ships lost in the battle, bearing a violet boxed "SHIP LOST" handstamp; altogether a marvelous study which took Mr. Prappas years to assemble. 907 c   The Falkland Islands War of 1982 - the extraordinary postal history collection, a most impressive and comprehensive collection of well over 240 covers (plus a few stamps) that chronicle this historic battle with Argentina, instigated by the Argentinean invasion of the islands on April 2, 1982, includes a wealth of important and legitimate covers (in addition to those philatelicly inspired) including military mail (both British and Argentinean), soldier's letters, covers cancelled on board the various ships engaged in the battle, mail from the islands with Argentinean stamps cancelled by "Malvinas" postmarks (the Argentinean name for the Falklands), we note a rare printed Falkland telegraph imprinted envelope used by an Argentinean soldier to write back home, there are several incoming embargoed covers that were returned to their senders as mail was suspended for a time, also accompanied by several original soldiers' letters, as well as dozens of photographs of various scenes and battleships, all-in-all quite likely one of the largest accumulations available today, just waiting to be mounted and readied for exhibition.
