1168 ogO   Impressive mostly mint collection to 1940 on album pages, includes used #1-2, a few other high cataloging early used stamps in mixed quality, from 1881 on the collection is nearly all mint and includes many desirable stamps, with many medium priced stamps in very fine condition, as well as high values, these often have small imperfections that kept them from being lotted individually, but they are generally quite attractive in appearance, much value in the regular issues, particularly the later Bank Notes and Washington-Franklins, the latter of which includes many dollar values and two 5c errors, plus some coil pairs, air posts complete including the Graf Zeppelins, also special deliveries, some postage dues, Offices in China complete, parcel posts, all of the Hunting Permit stamps, as well as a solid selection of possessions, as mentioned the overall condition of the mint stamps is quite nice, with many fine-very present; 36 certificates (mostly PF) accompany. 1172 O   Impressive balance of a large used collection from 1861 to 1932 in an album, the collector tried to get an attractive example of each stamp, with particular emphasis on cancels, with many interesting and pretty cancels to be found throughout, the collector also wanted stamps that were well centered and fresh, the result is an abundance of highly desirable stamps, better stamps to be found include 1861 Issue 3c Pink, two 5c Buff (one with Old Point Comfort cancel), the 3c "A" and "C" grills, three "Z" grills, later grilled issues to 30c, 1869 Pictorials to 30c, solid run of Bank Notes, with some better cancels, Columbians to 50c, $1.00 Trans-Mississippi, the later issues are well filled, with a nice run of Washington-Franklins including coils, a White Plains sheet, back-of-the-book includes air posts, special deliveries, postage dues, parcel posts and a particularly nice selection of official stamp, where again better cancels will be found, as mentioned the condition is far above the norm, and while there will be some small faults to be found, the appearance is overwhelmingly very fine with many very attractive stamps. 1175 ogO 7/22 #7/9, 18/22, 1c Blue 1851 and 1857 Issue balance of 25 items, eighteen of which are 1851 Imperforates, with better high cataloging multiples such as a mint strip of five of #7 (full o.g., signed Ashbrook), two used strips of six of #7, strip of three of #7 from Plate 4 (pen cancelled, Doporto certificate), used pair from Plate 3, #8A-8A-8 strip of three (Doporto certificate), used pair #9, the others are singles of #7 or #9, most of which are a variety (including the "Big Crack"), the 1857 Issue includes a mint and two used singles of #18, #20-18-18 strip of three used, #20 margin pair mint and two singles of #22 (both with Doporto certificates), condition is mixed, with the higher value items having faults or in less than very fine condition, however some of the singles are very fine appearing, overall a useful lot of scarce items boasting a high catalog value. 1176 og   Valuable old-time mint accumulation neatly arranged in thousands of glassines, some higher cataloging early issues, but a large portion of the value is in the 1890-1930 period, with singles, blocks, plate blocks and strips, commemoratives are quite strong, with hundreds of items from the Columbian and Trans-Mississippi series, the low and middle values with numerous singles and blocks, at least six dollar value Columbians, plus plate pairs and strips, the later commemoratives are similarly comprehensive, also useful regular issues, back-of-the-book including air posts, special deliveries, postage dues, officials, Office in China, savings stamps and more, also some proofs and essays, nearly all o.g., somewhat mixed condition though we note a surprising number are never hinged (particularly in the plethora of blocks) and overwhelmingly of fine-very fine appearance; this lot should prove to be incredibly useful for a dealer, as the retail value will undoubtedly be many multiples of our conservative estimate.
