1469 ogO   British Commonwealth substantial mostly mint collection through the King George VI issues in two large Scott albums, absolutely teeming with desirable mint 20th Century sets and high values, all parts of the Commonwealth are covered, virtually all of the definitive "tablet' sets are present and some of the popular high value items such as the Falklands Tercentenary set, Gibralter £5 King George V and St. Helena 15/- Badge of Colony are all included, many of the colonies are complete for the 20th Century, and several are missing only one or two stamps for completion, there is also some later 19th Century, but these are also desirable mint set, such as the later issues of the Australian States, there are almost no used classics or high cataloging "clunkers" to pollute this clean and impressive collection, o.g., the vast majority is fine-very fine; a remarkable collection, the likes of which are rarely offered in such scope. 1470 ogO   British Commonwealth useful collection housed in twelve Scott Specialty albums, with good representation from all areas including Great Britain and Canada, although British Africa seems the strongest, filled with mint and used, though generally lacking the high values or most expensive items (these are sometimes represented by a Specimen copy or fiscal cancel), plenty of medium priced stamps and sets throughout, some colonies go to 1990, while others only go to the 1960s, early issues in mixed condition, later mainly fine or better. 1471 ogO   British Commonwealth balance of 21 apparently scarce or rare stamps, most of which have some sort of negative certificate accompanying, including some higher cataloging stamps that are genuine but faults noted, some forged overprints, a few high value British Africa stamps that appear unused but have cleaned cancels, and then there are some rare stamps with conflicting certificates, such as Niger Coast S.G. #39 with good Royal and Brandon certs., but negative BPA, Johore S.G. #7 with 1968 letter of opinion from Robson Lowe, but BPA states forged overprint, and Samoa S.G. #111 with good PF but negative BPA cert. 1474 ogO   Canada and provinces extensive collection to 1950 in two Schaubek albums, containing not only mint and used singles, but multiples, covers and varieties to be found throughout, the Pence Issues include #1 on cover and #3 Specimen proof, four 6p imperforate (one on cover) and one perforated, two of the ½p, various mint and used Large Queens, the Small Queens includes mint, used, multiples and a few covers, Jubilee complete mint (except $5.00 used, plus extra $2.00 and $4.00 used), the later issues are quite well filled with mint and include varieties, blocks and plate blocks sprinkled throughout, the provinces are also quite valuable, with British Columbia containing the 10c Imperforate and ten different 1867-69 Surcharges mint or unused, other colonies with higher values, Newfoundland contains the 1861 1p Reddish brown ("slightly faded and stained" per RPS certificate), as well as later singles and blocks, the condition is slightly mixed, with some small faults on the early issues, the later mint is generally fine-very fine with some never hinged included.
