Surcharge on half of 5/- Dull rose, unsevered pair, surcharge reading up, an unusually handsome appearing and well centered example of this exceedingly rare mint pair, this example possesses a deep rose shade with brightness that is not often found on this stamp, it also retains a large portion of its original gum, h.r., accompanying certificate states "repaired tear lower right corner", which we do not find to be so much repaired as just a laminated small tear, which is quite unobtrusive and hardly apparent from the face, extremely fine appearance; this is a wonderfully attractive example of this rarity of which there are only a tiny number extant in any condition; 2003 RPS certificate; ex-Harris, Gross (S.G. #86b; £24,000).
