63 O 38 image#38, 30c Orange, a breathtakingly beautiful used example of this value, possessing the most precise centering and the largest margins we have ever encountered on this always challenging stamp, with huge perfectly balanced margins all around, the margins are so lavish that its perforations well clear the design all around which is almost never seen, contributing further to this stamp's spectacular eye appeal is its absolutely stunning color that is incredibly intense and unaffected by oxidization (as is so often the case), all wonderfully complemented by a crisp strike of a deep red rimless grid postmark, a superb jumbo that must be seen in person to fully appreciate its overall beauty; 2000 PF certificate. (Image) 490.00

65 O 39 image#39, 90c Blue, an enormously rare used example of this value, which is one of a very few stamps in United States philately that is actually far more rare and valuable in used condition versus mint, with this particular copy being one of the few which is completely sound and without the myriad of flaws which affect the majority of known used examples, bold rich color and impression on bright fresh paper, quite well centered with its perforations clearing the design all around, light central strike of a Philadelphia town postmark versus the more commonly seen grid cancel, very fine; according to the Philatelic Foundation records, there are approximately 170 to 180 used examples which have been certified as genuine by their service, and of these only 25% or so are sound; an important stamp for the serious collector of used U.S. stamps; 1978 and 1999 PF certificates. (Image) 6,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $7,000.00
Closing..Jun-15, 03:00 PM
66 O 39 image#39, 90c Blue, an infrequently offered certified used example of this rarity, being one of the finest centered used #39's in existence, as this stamp features outstanding centering amid extravagantly large margins for this typically tightly margined value, sumptuously rich color and a sharp impression on white paper, very light and unobtrusive black cancel, couple of barely discernible filled in thin spots, which in no way detract from this stamp's remarkable extremely fine appearance; as stated in the previous lot, there are only approximately 170 to 180 used #39's which have been certified as genuine by the Philatelic Foundation, it is highly unlikely that more than 10% of this number exist with the centering this stamp possesses; 1997 PF certificate. Closed or SOLD for $3,000.00
Closing..Jun-15, 03:00 PM
