AS72e), clear shade highlighting sharp impression, clear to large margins showing portion of adjoining stamp at right, on 1841 (4 Feb.) entire from London to Dublin (5.2), exceptionally cancelled and well tied by Maltese Cross in red, showing origin (clearly dated) and arrival d.s. also in red on reverse, an unobtrusive filing crease passes through top left corner of the stamp; one of the most important Penny Black usages on cover not only being a rarity for this plate cancelled in red, but also most probably the earliest recorded date of use for Plate 11 on cover (interestingly, there is a cover in the National Postal Museum used from London on 9 February 1841 and also cancelled in red; see also lot #176 for another early usage); 1988 RPS certificate.
