Shreves Philatelic Galleries invites you to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - the sale at public auction of Dr. Pichai's Grand Prix collection. Meticulously formed by acquiring items from stellar collections such as Colonel Bates, Seymour, Adams, Caspary, Griffiths, Sahida and "Daisy", Dr. Pichai's collection truly represents the "best of the best."

Beginnig with the Treasury Competition of 1839, rarities from the Pichai collection chronicle the unique history behind the development, production and use of the first postage stamps. Brimming with essays, proofs, trial cancellations, study of individual plates, largest known multiples and important postal history; this magnificent collection is unrivaled for its assembly of significant historial pieces.

The Pichai collection heralds the British ingenuity leading to the creation of the first postage stamp nearly 160 years ago. In honor of this creative spirit and its lasting mark on modern history, Shreves will conduct the auction of Dr. Pichai's collection in London, England at the famed Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel.

Shreves will produce a Special Edition Pichai Collection Catalogue featuring the collection is ints entire eight-frame exhibit format to complement this unique event.
