AS4) block of four, fine impression, large even margins, on 1840 entire letter from London to Carlisle, tied by Maltese Crosses in red and showing "K/Ju-29/1840" c.d.s on reverse, according to accompanying certificate the stamps have been lifted and replaced, and the cover has had creasing pressed, though we can see no discernible difference between when the cover appeared in the Maximus sale in 1970 and today, very fine: any block of four is rare on cover, with this example being particularly desirable and handsome; 1998 RPS certificate; ex-Maximus, Griffiths, and Shaida.
