AS44), good to large margins, cancelled by Maltese Cross in red (smudged) and also in blue which matches the origin d.s. on reverse, an extraordinary combination of two different cancellation ink colours on the same stamp; accompanying 2000 RPS certificate states "cannot identify the nature of blue obliteration - not M/C Cross"; ex-Adams (lot 102) where described as "cancelled with heavy smudged red M.C. as well as a less distinct but unmistakable blue M.C.", an opinion with which we are in complete agreement. AS46ve) horizontal strip of six, large to clear margins except end stamps touched (defect at foot of PG), cancelled by Maltese Cross in ruby colour, showing matching framed origin d.s. and arrival c.d.s. on reverse, the strip has been taken off the cover to remove creasing from a letter fold and then expertly replaced, nevertheless a spectacular franking and lovely coloured cancellation highlighted by the brilliant black colour of the stamps; 1995 BPA certificate.
