1477 og S.G. #25c imageS.G. #25c, 1875 Black "2d" on "Six Cents" surcharge on 3p Green with double Roman "V.R.", an incredibly rare mint example of this scarcest of the surcharge varieties, it is believed that only one sheet received the double overprint so only 20 examples of the Roman type stamps could exist, but from the catalog listings, which price it only used (S.G. £3,250), it is doubtful that more than two or three examples survived, and in this mint state it is quite likely unique, o.g., h.r., slight staining mentioned on undated but early RPS of New Zealand certificate, but it is truly just a trace of gum toning, just fine centering which can be presumed to be the way all copies are found being from the same sheet; a very important variety for the collector of the early issues of Fiji (Scott #27b, priced only used at $3,250.00). 1478 og S.G. #26 imageS.G. #26, 1875 "2p" on "Twelve Cents" surcharge on 6p Rose with Gothic "V.R.", a wonderfully well centered and fresh mint example of this issue where the "2d" and "V.R." were overprinted in one operation, perforations are full and even and surround large full margins, intense rich color, extremely fine and rarely found in such nice condition; it is believed that only 6,258 of this stamp were issued and this one is certainly among the finest available; signed Champion, H.Bloch and accompanied by a 1992 BPA certificate (Scott #32; $1,500.00).
