90 og 30A image#30A, 5c Brown, Ty. (Image) 2,000.00

SOLD for $1,500.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
91 og 31 image#31, 10c Green, Ty. I, a premier example of this enormously rare mint stamp, being one of the few premium quality original gum copies in existence, well centered within margins that are, for this type, exceptionally large and well balanced, clearly displaying the full bottom shells characteristic of this type, its color is especially deep and luxuriant, with its impression well etched, even and intact perforations all around, and adding to this stamp's list of impressive attributes is its full o.g. that has been relatively lightly hinged, extremely fine; an exciting opportunity for the serious collector of mint U.S. stamps to finally fill an impossibly difficult space in their album; 1992 PF certificate; ex-"Alford" Collection. 93 og 33 image#33, 10c Green, Ty. III, a very rare and seldom offered mint example of this stamp, completely free of the faults that seem to plague most of the surprisingly few mint copies available, being quite well centered for this, warm rich color and a crisp detailed impression, full clean o.g., very fine and quite choice; 1992 PF certificate. (Image) 5,250.00

95 ogPB 35 image#35, 10c Green, Ty. V, handsome full right margin partial imprint and plate "No. 2 P." block of four, each stamp within the block being extraordinarily well centered within large margins, sumptuously rich color, o.g., some separated perfs. in sheet selvage, top right stamp with small thin spot, otherwise very fine-extremely fine; a very scarce plate number multiple; ex-Chapin. (Image) as normal block 1,200.00+

SOLD for $1,800.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
96 ogPB 35 #35, 10c Green, Ty. V, an immensely rare and handsome full left margin imprint and plate "No. 2 P." block of eight, with full imprint placed on the sheet so that it largely falls within the left margin of the stamps in the first vertical row, incredibly well centered, rich luxuriant color, slightly disturbed o.g., some sensible hinge reinforcement of perfs., bottom pair with faint crease, otherwise very fine and choice; in our opinion this plate block rarity is undercataloged in Scott, as only two full plate number blocks are listed in the Chapin census (one part of a much larger multiple), with this example being unrecorded and therefore no more than three such plate blocks are likely to exist: a highly important classic United States plate block; ex-Sheriff, Wampler and Chapin. (Image) 17,500.00

SOLD for $14,500.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
97 og 36 image#36, 12c Black, plate I, magnificently centered within unusually large margins, especially bright and fresh, strong color and impression, full o.g., minor h.r., extremely fine gem; a notoriously difficult stamp to find, not only this well centered, but this choice as well; ex-Chapin. (Image) 1,450.00

SOLD for $3,250.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
98 og 36b image#36b, 12c Black, plate III, unusually well centered for this always challenging stamp, deep rich color and impression, full clean o.g., relatively lightly hinged, extremely fine for this and quite elusive thus; ex-Chapin. (Image) 775.00

SOLD for $725.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
99 ogPB 36b image#36b, 12c Black, plate 3, an extremely rare right margin partial imprint and plate number "3" irregular block of five, the fifth stamp at bottom right having been removed and reattached to fill out imprint, all five stamps are quite well centered, particularly for this notoriously difficult stamp, deep luxuriant color and strong impression, nearly full o.g., top right stamp with small thin spot, overall very fine; a highly important perforated 1857 Twelve Cent imprint and plate number multiple; very few normal blocks of four from plate 3 are even known, and blocks containing either an imprint and/or plate number are almost non-existent, in fact, this multiple and a block of 42 containing a complete imprint and plate number are the only two such recorded multiples; ex-Chapin. (Image) Est. 5,000-7,500

SOLD for $5,500.00
Closing..May-30, 04:00 PM
100 og 37 image#37, 24c Gray lilac, an exceptionally choice mint example, possessing near perfect centering, plus its color is far more intense and in a much deeper shade than typically encountered, full o.g., small h.r., extremely fine; a particularly handsome original gum example of this scarce mint stamp; 1982 PF certificate; ex-Chapin. (Image) 1,600.00

SOLD for $1,700.00
